Meeting your needs with Kiwi Engineering
Piako Transport Engineering (PTE) was established in January 1990 by Colin and Tarnia Richardson, initially providing engineering and maintenance services to the transport industry, particularly for Piako Freighters Ltd’s Mack fleet. With Colin’s background in mechanical engineering and trades, PTE quickly expanded its services to agricultural equipment in the Morrinsville area.
Growing demand led PTE to develop its own transport equipment, starting with lightweight truck bodies and curtainsiders, and by 1994, manufacturing its first trailer, a 4-axle stock trailer still in service today. In 1996, PTE moved into its own purpose-built facility.
Over the years, PTE broadened its range to include lowloader trailers, tilt decks, stock trailers, tippers, tanker chassis, truck modifications, and general engineering, building a strong reputation for reliable, high-quality transport solutions.
